Albemarle’s finance department received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The ministry received the award for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
Chief Financial Officer Colleen Conroy recently announced the award to City Council. This is the third consecutive year that the city’s finance department has earned this recognition.

While the GFOA website has yet to list the current winners, the 2018 local winners, aside from Albemarle, included Stanly County and Stanly County School Board.
