The CFO Council Seeks to Transform the Management of Federal Finances Through the Workforce Training Marketplace

The Council of Chief Financial Officers has issued a Request for Information to identify potential industry partners for a new initiative to create a marketplace for financial management training and educational tools, Federal News Network reported Wednesday.

Evan Farleywho co-leads a workforce modernization effort at the CFO Council, said the marketplace will be built to help 140,000 government finance officials access approved courseware from the business and academic sectors.

He noted that the group is looking to partner with content providers who have virtual delivery experience and are able to demonstrate a workable platform in a short period of time.

“The only thing that differentiates us a bit from other efforts is that we don’t build a learning management system. We have a core financial management committee competency set of 54 knowledge, skills, and abilities that we are looking to have on the site,” he told Federal News Network.

Farley added that the council aims to find qualified suppliers and launch the market during the first quarter of 2022.

Interested suppliers may submit their responses to the RFI Notice until December 16.

The Potomac Officers Club will host a virtual event for government and GovCon leaders to share their views on hybrid working arrangements and the role of data analytics in workforce management. Click here to register for the forum on October 7 and learn about other upcoming events.
